Shark Reader Help

Reading Masters tracking, Renaissance setup, book discovery, official forms, and data protection.

Getting started

  1. Set the reader's name, grade, teacher, and Renaissance reading range.
  2. Capture older Renaissance history on the iPhone if you need to bring in past quizzes.
  3. Set up Automatic Quiz Email for new Renaissance quiz results.
  4. Start reading. Individual quizzes scoring 80%+ are matched to the Reading Masters awards they qualify for.

Past Renaissance history

No computer utility is needed. In Shark Reader on the iPhone, open Settings → Advanced → Capture Renaissance History on iPhone. Sign in directly on Renaissance's webpage, navigate to Progress → My Completed Work, and tap Capture History.

Common questions

What score counts?

Each individual Reading Practice quiz must score 80% or higher. Scores are never averaged across books.

Does Shark Reader sign in to Renaissance?

For historical capture, you sign in directly on Renaissance's webpage inside Shark Reader's in-app browser. Shark Reader does not ask you to give it your Renaissance password or place that password in the history file. Automatic Quiz Email is separate and does not require your Renaissance password.

How do I bring in old quiz history?

On the iPhone, open Shark Reader → Settings → Advanced → Capture Renaissance History on iPhone. Sign in to Renaissance, open Progress → My Completed Work, then tap Capture History.

Do I need history capture for new quizzes?

Usually no. Once old history is caught up, Automatic Quiz Email is the recommended ongoing workflow for new quizzes.

What does the AR reading range do?

Recommended mode narrows book discovery to qualifying books with known AR/ATOS levels in the reader's current range. It never changes award qualification.

Why isn't a book counting?

Confirm the quiz is in the current Reading Masters program window, scored at least 80%, and matches that award's qualifying rules.

Why does Preparing form take a moment?

Shark Reader is generating and filling the official PDF. Keep the screen open until the share sheet appears.

Where is reading data stored?

Reading data is stored on the iPhone with recovery copies and private iCloud backup when available. Check Settings → Data for backup status.
